What’s new
What changed in each version. The app downloads updates by itself.
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.24 latest
-
The address changes every minute
This computer's address now changes every minute, like a code in an authenticator app, with a countdown ring next to it. An address you dictated still works for a minute after it changes. Someone who connected once cannot come back by an old address, even knowing the password. You can choose a permanent address in Settings; the server agent keeps a permanent one.
-
Your computers find themselves
The Accept window has Allow to connect again. With it the computer appears among My computers of the one who connected and is found there by an address only these two computers know. That address also changes every minute and shows on the card with a ring. Without consent the computer is not added to the list.
-
Who may come back
Settings, under This computer's address, lists the computers allowed back, each with Revoke: after it that computer can no longer find yours.
-
Connect once more
Address book entries with the old permanent address will not find an updated computer. Connect to each of your computers once by the address it shows now and press Accept there with Allow to connect again: from then on it is found by itself.
-
One-time sessions
A session without permission to come back stays among recent connections under the connect field, marked Address changed. If you choose it, the app asks for the current address instead of connecting to the old one.

-
Version 0.5.0-beta.23
-
A monitor on its side stands upright
When a Windows monitor is turned on its side, choosing that display no longer shows the picture sideways and half black: it stands as it does on the monitor itself.
-
The cursor over any display
On a second Windows monitor and with All displays, the cursor no longer disappears over the picture and takes the same shape as on that computer.
-
The picture from Windows does not flicker
A Windows computer no longer sends more than 60 frames a second and no longer spends the whole network speed on a still screen: the picture is calm, Wi-Fi is not flooded, and the mouse and keyboard arrive without delay. A session now uses at most 20 Mbit/s.
-
The session pill
The shadow under the pill is no longer cut off, and the dot breathes three times and rests. On Windows the pill never becomes the active window, so the viewer's keys reach the computer's windows, not the pill.
-
Nothing happens before Accept
Until someone presses Accept on the computer, the one connecting can neither write to the clipboard nor send commands. If their account is not verified, the request window says Account not verified and always warns about scammers.
-
Less load, sturdier settings
Without a session the app wakes the processor once a second and turns on the precise Windows timer only during a session. The computer's settings are written whole: a damaged file does not turn on accepting requests.
-
Protection against password guessing
Notifications and the security log have a new event, Someone is guessing your account password: sign-in from unknown devices then pauses for 15 minutes, while your own devices sign in as usual.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.22
-
A session left alone ends after an hour
If the mouse and keyboard are left alone for an hour, the session ends by itself: a forgotten open session left the computer in someone else's hands. A minute before, a warning with a Continue button appears for those who only watch.
-
Windows after a connection
When someone connects to a Windows computer, its window steps aside again, the window buttons and dragging work, and the session pill shows instead of white squares. Update the app on Windows.
-
Checking for updates without a freeze
On Windows, Check no longer freezes the app while an update downloads. Updating to this version may still stall, the next ones will not.
-
The window does not freeze
The app no longer waits for the network or a password's hash while its window stands still: it answers at once when it starts without a network and when the permanent password changes.
-
Start at login only where it is needed
On the Mac and Windows the app still starts when you log in, so the computer can be reached. On Linux it no longer starts by itself: connecting to Linux is not possible yet.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.20
-
The other computer's displays
When the other computer has several displays, a button on the session bar switches between them, and on Windows it can show all of them at once. The mouse goes to the display shown. That computer needs beta 20 too.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.19
-
The app runs once
When the app already runs in the background, its shortcut shows its window instead of starting a second one. With a second copy on Windows, repeated windows opened on a connection and Quit in the tray closed only one of them.
-
Menus over the picture in one piece
On the Mac, menus over the other computer's picture are no longer cut by a dark line at its edge.
-
A smooth picture over Wi-Fi
On a Mac on Wi-Fi the picture froze for 0.1-0.2 seconds every half second: the app took a short Wi-Fi pause for a loss and asked for the picture again. It now waits the pause out.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.18
-
The picture no longer freezes through the relay
When the computers connected through our relay server, the picture from Windows froze for 7-20 seconds: the computer sent more than the relay passes for one session, and the excess was lost. It now stays within the relay's limit and the picture runs smoothly. Update the app on both computers, above all on the one you connect to.
-
Window buttons on Windows
Minimize, Maximize and Close in the window's top right corner work. If one does not, the log will show why.
-
Grey window buttons on the Mac
When the window is not in focus, grey buttons are visible again where the coloured ones were: the window now follows the app's theme.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.16
-
Connecting from Windows
A Windows computer can now connect to others, as a Mac does: the picture in a tab, the mouse, the wheel, the keyboard (Ctrl acts as Cmd when the other side is a Mac), the input language, the clipboard, the sound and the cursor. This is the first version: if something looks wrong, send the log.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.15
-
Sound from Windows
What plays on the Windows computer is now heard on yours, as with a Mac. Update the app on Windows too.
-
The cursor as on Windows
Over the picture from Windows the cursor takes its shape: a text cursor over a field, a hand over a link, arrows at a window’s edge.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.14
-
Smoother picture from Windows
Windows encodes the screen on the graphics card (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD): up to 60 frames a second. Where the card cannot, up to 30 as before. Update the app on both computers.
-
The picture no longer stands still after a lost frame
When a frame is lost on the way and the encoder sends no new key frame, Windows starts the stream again at once. Before, the picture could stand for twenty seconds while control kept working.
-
Let someone in is gone
There is no 5-minute password any more. People connect by a request that shows who they are, and you press Accept, or with the permanent password. The tray and the palette have Copy address now.
-
Faster at the start of a session
The Windows desktop picture for the card is ten times smaller and comes once, out of the video’s way.
-
The log remembers freezes
The engine log shows when the picture stopped and how soon it came back, which encoder works and how many frames a second arrive. Send it if the picture stops again.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.13
-
The picture from Windows no longer freezes
Half a second after connecting the picture could freeze while control kept working. Now the picture recovers by itself, even when some frames are lost.
-
Through the relay when you need it
The computer’s menu has Always through the relay, and the session details have Reconnect through the relay. Useful when the computer is on another network and a direct connection does not work.
-
The card shows the desktop without windows
A computer’s picture is now its wallpaper with no open windows: nothing private from the screen gets into it. Old snapshots were deleted. Cards are no longer gray while the presence service is in the works.
-
Account and devices in the app
Account, Devices, Support the project and Invite a friend open right in the app. You can change the password, create a new recovery key, let a device in or remove it, and send a friend links to the installer.
-
Codes arrive by email
Emails with codes for signing up and changing the password are sent.
-
Groups, favorites and the log
The first group can be created again, favorite computers are marked with a star, and the security log opens without a doubled title and shows an error with Try again.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.12
-
You see an older version over there
When the other computer has an older version than yours, the session toolbar says so. Sound and the input language work with beta 10 or later there: update the app there too, with Update at the bottom left.
-
The language after coming back
Switched the language in another app and came back to the session: the other computer switches to the same.
-
Windows: Cyrillic in the user name
Taking connections starts even when the Windows user name has Cyrillic letters in it.
-
When taking connections did not start
The This computer card says so plainly and opens the log. Before, it looked like the address service was down.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.11
-
You see who connects
The Connection request window shows the e-mail of the account that connects, with its computer’s name under it. The service vouches for the e-mail, so it cannot be faked. The pill during the session says the same.
-
Connect to Windows
A Windows computer takes connections: the screen, the mouse, the keyboard, the clipboard and your input language. Connecting from Windows to others is not there yet.
-
The pill for password sign-ins too
When someone comes in with a password, this computer shows the pill with their name and End as well.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.10
-
Your keyboard layout over there
Switch the input language on your computer in any way, and the remote one switches to the same. The language itself goes over, not a switch, so nothing switches twice.
-
The remote computer’s sound
You hear what plays on that Mac (macOS 13 and later).
-
Truly full screen
The picture takes the whole screen without black bars, with a white pill on top that folds into a dot and goes wherever you drag it.
-
Permissions asked by the app
The app asks for Screen Recording and Accessibility itself, and the This computer card says when control is not possible.
-
The mouse only over the picture
Moves and clicks beside the remote picture stay on your computer.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.9
-
Updates on their own
The app checks for updates every half hour and when you come back to it, downloads the new version by itself and offers to restart.
-
Smooth download
The update’s progress bar only moves forward, without jumps, and the bottom of the sidebar says it briefly: Update, Downloading or Restart.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.8
-
Clipboard in sessions
Copied text travels between the computers both ways. Passwords from password managers stay on their computer.
-
Why control does not work, said at once
If the mouse and keyboard do not get through, the session toolbar says why: the other side allowed only viewing, or that Mac has not given the Accessibility permission.
-
Menus over the remote screen
The app’s popups and menus open over the remote screen, not under it.
-
The card after a session
A computer’s card shows its system, last session, connection and a picture of its screen, and a session shows the real latency, speed and loss.
-
Verification code and familiar people
The verification code is the same on both screens, and someone you let in before is no longer called new.
-
Small things
The DMG window with its background and arrow, Close on Windows turns red on hover, and Hello appears without a flash of the app.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.7
-
“Let someone in” in the middle
From the tray and the palette the one-time password window opens in the middle of the screen and no longer covers the window buttons.
-
Window buttons on Windows
On Windows, Minimize, Maximize and Close sit on the right of the tab strip, without an extra system title bar.
-
About
The Mac menu bar now speaks the app’s language, and About opens a neat window with the version, updates and documents.
-
Beautiful installers
A Mac DMG with the logo and an arrow to Applications, and a Windows installer in the brand colours.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.6
-
“Hello” on the first start
The first start greets you in Russian, English and Chinese, and “Sign in” glides into the sign-in card.
-
Sign-in step by step
Email first, then the password: the password field and “Forgot password?” appear after “Continue”.
-
Theme and language in the corner
On the sign-in screen the theme and the language are two small menus in the bottom right corner, following the system by default.
-
No flicker
While the app checks your sign-in, the main window no longer flashes before the sign-in screen.
-
Sessions survive sleep
This computer stops being reachable only when you sign out, not because the keychain failed to answer once after the Mac slept.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.5
-
Real connections on a Mac
The app now really connects to other computers and lets others in: the other screen shows right in its tab. Mac to Mac for now, Windows and Linux are on their way.
-
One-time password
“Let someone in” gives a password for 5 minutes. The person you called types it and comes in without “Accept”. It works once.
-
Only what you allowed
Without “Control the mouse and keyboard” in the request window, the other person can only watch.
-
macOS permissions
“Getting started” now has Screen Recording and Control: each one asks the system itself and opens the right settings pane. The tick appears as soon as the permission is granted, no restart needed.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.4
-
No more sign-out after an update
The app no longer signs you out when it starts after an update.
-
The sign-in screen matches the app
It looks like the main window, in the light and the dark theme. The theme and the language can be picked right there.
-
Computers by use
Recent sessions are gone: the computers you connect to most come first.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.3
-
Signing in is required
Connecting, letting people in and the address book work only after you sign in. This way the Accept window always shows who is connecting.
-
A clearer sign-in screen
The sign-in screen explains what the account is for.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.2
-
The QR code reads in the dark theme
The authenticator code is now black on a white plate, so your phone picks it up at once.
-
A calmer sign-in screen
A soft glow without a pattern instead of the grid of dots.
-
A real security log
Sign-ins, wrong passwords and codes, new devices and changes to access to this computer over 90 days.
-
Only your data
Recent sessions, Getting started and settings no longer show examples, only what you did. Connecting on request and the address mode stay as you set them after a restart.
-
What’s new in every version
After an update the app tells you about the new version, and the changes are in Settings.
-
Report a problem reaches the team
System details are attached only when you tick the box.
-
Links and tabs
Links to help and downloads open again, and the new tab button sits right in the middle.
-
-
Version 0.5.0-beta.1
-
The first EnotRemote beta
An account with a password and a required authenticator code. The password never reaches the server, not even encrypted.
-
End-to-end encrypted address book
Your computers and groups are visible only to you and sync between your devices. A new device gets access after you compare the code on both screens.
-
Updates on their own
The app checks for new versions, downloads them in the background and verifies the signature before installing.
-
Notices about work on our servers
When we fix something, the app tells you in advance when and for how long.
-
